Therapy with Children, Teens, and Adults as well as Psychological Evaluations for All Ages (5+)
Hello! I am Dr. Lindsay Frey, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and founder of Finding Hope Wellness Center, LLC. I opened Finding Hope with a vision of creating more than just a place for therapy. I wanted to build a practice where children, teens, adults, couples, and families could feel genuinely supported, encouraged, and reminded that there is always HOPE, even during difficult seasons of life.
One of the greatest joys of building Finding Hope has been the opportunity to supervise, mentor, and train the next generation of therapists. I am incredibly passionate about mental health care and about developing clinicians who are not only knowledgeable and skilled, but also compassionate, authentic, and invested in the people they serve. I love watching our therapists grow in their confidence and clinical abilities while bringing their own unique strengths and personalities to our practice. Together, we are able to offer a wide range of services while maintaining the warmth and personal connection that I envisioned when Finding Hope began.
As a psychologist, I tend to be encouraging, optimistic, and practical in my work. I believe therapy should certainly provide a safe place to talk about the hard things, but it should also help people develop the insight, skills, and confidence they need to create meaningful change in their lives. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I enjoy helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and overall well-being. For clients and families who desire it, I also welcome the integration of Christian faith into the therapeutic process.
In addition to therapy, one of my primary areas of specialization is psychological and psychoeducational evaluation. I evaluate children, adolescents, and adults for concerns including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, giftedness, emotional and behavioral concerns, and other areas affecting academic or everyday functioning. I especially enjoy helping families move from “We know something is going on, but we don't know what” to having a clearer understanding of an individual's strengths, challenges, and the supports that may help them thrive.
I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Tampa, in 2014, after earning my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from FSPP in 2010. I completed my predoctoral internship at Clifford Beers Guidance Clinic in New Haven, Connecticut, followed by my postdoctoral clinical fellowship with Hillsborough County Schools in Tampa. My experience has included community mental health, schools, extended-day treatment programs, hospitals, and private practice.
After more than a decade in the field, I remain deeply passionate about mental health care and the privilege of being invited into people's lives. Whether I am working directly with a client or family, completing an evaluation, supervising a developing therapist, or growing Finding Hope, my goal remains the same: to help people better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and move forward with HOPE.
