Dr. Sheila Hernandez

Clinical Psychology Resident
Intake: $150 | Sessions: $125

Hello, I’m Dr. Sheila B. Hernandez-Espada, a clinical psychology resident at Finding Hope Wellness Center, LLC. I firmly believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and that therapy can be both effective and empowering. I approach therapy from a multicultural perspective, fostering a culture of mental health awareness and inclusivity—because therapy is for everyone. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, compassionate, and empathetic space, as I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive environment for all individuals.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in special education and psychology from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, a master’s degree in special education from Caribbean University of Puerto Rico, and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PhD) from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. With many years of experience as a certified educator, I have specialized in exceptional student education (K-12), reading endorsement, elementary education (K-6), and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL). I also have significant administrative experience, having served as a school principal, exceptional student education (ESE) coach, ESE compliance specialist, and ESE staffing specialist.

My predoctoral training included experience within a private practice and multidisciplinary center, a suicide prevention program, and exceptional student services. Currently, I am completing my post-graduate hours for licensure under the direct supervision of Dr. Frey. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association.
